F.U.S.S. : Follicular Unit Strip Surgery also called Follicular Hair Microtransplant.

This is the most practiced method.
It represents over 95% of hair transplants performed worldwide. With strip surgery a strip of skin containing hair-follicles is cut from the back of the head. The strip size is typically 1.2 cm wide, and up to 25 cm long going from ear to ear. The strip is divided into grafts of 1 to 3 strands of hair which are to be reimplanted on the bald areas.
This procedure has the advantage of implanting about 6500 strands of hair in one single session.
Note that the average transplants is 3750 strands of hair per session.
With the help of 7 to 8 assistants for cutting grafts, count 3 hours for 3750 strands of hair and 5 hours for 6500. The standard strip excision method involves surgically removing a strip of scalp from the bald resistant donor area of the patient. The donor area scar is then sutured. If the suture is well performed then there must remain a very thin scar that gradually becomes invisible.
This method is the quickest and the one that gives the most significant results in one session.
Besides, it is the technique the less expensive and more economical.

Example of two F.U.S.S. sessions of 1200 grafts in each.
