Care after hair transplant

Post- operative instructions

You have just had a hair transplant, you must follow the following instructions…

• Avoid sleeping on the scar and provide a support roll below the neck while sleeping so that your scar does not bear the weight of your body.

• IN CASE OF MILD BLEEDING at the level of the SCAR, apply a pad (that will be given to you at the end of your surgery), exerting firm pressure with fingers for about four minutes. Then slowly remove the pad. If bleeding persists, call the surgeon.

After surgery the scar must be cleaned immediately and daily sanitized with antiseptics prescribed by surgeons.

The same day and 3 days after surgery,

• Relax
• Do not lean forward
• Do not take asperin
• Wear a tennis headband to avoid any forehead and eyelids swelling
• Do not comb or brush the grafted areas.

The day after the surgery : Morning and Evening, and until the thread is removed

• Clean the scar every morning and evening with antiseptic spray, prescribed by the doctor, by dabbing it with a sterilized pad.
• Do not comb or brush the grafted areas.
• Do not apply the antiseptic spray on the grafted areas. Use only bottled water.

On the 3rd day after surgery and every following day,

• Take a hair bath using a gentle shampoo with neutral pH, without rubbing with the fingertips.
• Use warm water and an aerator.
• Dry your head with a blow dryer set to the lowest position, or by using a towel without rubbing.
• Do not comb or brush the grafted areas.
• Clean the scar with antiseptic spray by rubbing assiduously in a horizontal gesture with a sterilized pad so that the crusts do not move.

The 8th day after surgery,

• Use a normal shampoo by rubbing lightly the entire head in order to begin to eliminate small residual crusts.
• Dry the head with a blow dryer set to the lowest position, or with a towel.
• Style the grafted areas with your fingers.

Between the 10th and 12th day after surgery,

• Get the thread removed by a professional: doctor or nurse or a member of the team "Follicular Assistance".
• Avoid strenuous physical activity and Hammam as well as violent sports for 4 weeks until the thread is removed and the healing is complete.
